Behind the Trend: My Designs, Their Copies

In January 2023, I embarked on my yearly ski trip with my boyfriend to Utah. Naturally, I took the opportunity to fashion myself a crochet shawl suitable for the cold climate. Fast forward to October 2023, while on a shopping outing with my girlfriends, we decided to peruse Urban Outfitters. To my astonishment, I encountered an SUPER familiar design! While I in no way think that Urban Outfitters directly replicated my creation, it felt really good to realize that I had made something trendy before it became popular.
